Vehicle roadworthiness test
From 1 March 2026 the basic test for a passenger car (M1) costs 34.10 EUR; with the mandatory 2.85 EUR road-use levy the total is 36.95 EUR. A retest after defects costs 18.54 EUR. The windscreen sticker is no longer issued — the test status is electronic.

Book a slot (recommended)
Booking is not mandatory, but e.csdd.lv lets you pick a specific time and skip the queue. Prepayment via e-CSDD is available for some categories.
Prepare the car and documents
Bring the registration certificate; OCTA must be valid and the vehicle operation tax paid. Since 11 March 2025 stickers and gadgets restricting visibility are banned in the wiper zone and on front side windows.
Take the test and pay
The total for a passenger car is 36.95 EUR (34.10 EUR test + 2.85 EUR levy), payable at the station. If defects are found, fix them and return for a retest (18.54 EUR).
