E-prescription
Prescriptions for state-compensated medicines have been electronic-only since 2018. View yours on eveseliba.gov.lv under “Receptes” — the medicine name, dose, issue date and expiry are shown. At the pharmacy, your passport or eID card is all you need to collect your own medicines.

The doctor issues the e-prescription
The prescription has a unique ID number, issue date, expiry and usage instructions. If technical problems prevent an e-prescription, the doctor may issue a paper one — the pharmacist digitises it.
Collect the medicines
For yourself — show your passport or eID. For a child — your document plus the child's name. For someone else — the prescription ID number (printout or photo), the patient's name and your own ID document; you never need the other person's personal code.
For regular help — delegate
If someone regularly collects your medicines, delegate them in the E-veselība portal — then their ID and your name suffice, no ID number needed. Ordinary e-prescription medicines can be bought in parts at different pharmacies — the pharmacist sees the remaining amount in the system.
