Polish passport
The standard adult passport fee is 140 zł and the document is valid 10 years. Half price (70 zł) applies to pupils, students up to 26, pensioners and adults with the Large Family Card; children under 12 pay 30 zł (a 5-year passport), teens 12–18 — 70 zł, and people over 70 pay nothing. Note: a replacement for a passport lost or destroyed through your own fault costs 200% more. Apply at any passport point, with no residence-based restrictions; photos are usually taken on site or you bring your own.
Who this applies to
Step by step
Pay and prepare the documents
The fee is paid before applying — by card at the desk or by transfer (bring the confirmation). You need: an identity document, a biometric photo (max 6 months old) and proof of any discount entitlement.
Apply at a passport point
The clerk fills in the application — you just verify the data, give fingerprints and sign. In big cities it's worth booking a slot online in the voivodeship office's queueing system.
Track the status and collect it
Check readiness on gov.pl in 'Sprawdź, czy twój paszport jest gotowy' (case number from your receipt). Collection is in person at the same point; the old passport is cancelled.

Frequently asked questions
I need a passport urgently — any options?
In urgent documented cases (a funeral, treatment abroad) a temporary passport is issued — 30 zł, no biometrics, valid up to 12 months. A regular passport can't officially be 'expedited'.
How much is a child's passport?
Under 12 — 30 zł (valid 5 years); 12 to 18 — 70 zł (valid 10 years). With the Large Family Card it's even less — 15 zł and 35 zł respectively.
